Great app but its got a long ways to go, especially since its dealing with something as important as contacts. I paid for the upgrade and this is version 3 already. Some of these bugs feel very "1st-time app developer" to me.
I hope I can come back and add stars once these are worked out, b/c its otherwise the best contacts app ever!! Its like the developers can read my mind for what I want a contact app to do and look like. You can open someones Facebook profile from the app, or click on their twitter or view their instagram feed. You can also input relationships b/w people and then slide between their profiles. That kind of stuff is amazingly smooth and easy to use! But contacts are majorly important and bugs are a real deal-breaker.
Some of the issues:
- It wont let you delete contacts - they turn into entries called No Name.
- It also doesnt sync very well. So contacts that have a photo from Facebook show up as no photo when you do a search for no photo contacts. It also deletes photos Ive uploaded through the app every time it syncs with my iPhone contacts, which makes me wonder how safe the rest of my info is. And its really bad at labels for phone numbers and things. If I list a number as a mobile, or give it a custom name, half the time it just randomly changes it to home, and then wont let me change it back.
- It has a lot of problems with syncing social media contacts - sometimes it lets you add them to the iPhone contacts, but sometimes they disappear. Some peoples Facebook profiles always show up blank too (maybe thats because of their privacy settings, though).
Some suggestions (nothing to do with my star rating, which is b/c of the bugs):
- It would be great if the app would let you email from within the app, instead of always opening the mail app, since I use mailbox and gmail, and every time I accidentally open the mail app, it takes forever to update. Lots of apps let you send emails within the app, so this should be pretty doable.
- Finally, it would be amazing to have an app that actually lets you see your last few text messages with someone, your FB messages, Twitter interactions, etc. Though that might slow it down too much. Id also add some Skype integration, google chat (or hangouts or whatever theyre calling it now), and linked in (I know youve been trying on that one). Then I could use cobook to click around to all the other apps I contact people in. I think Apple wouldnt let some of that level of integration happen, but it would be amazing if it magically did!!
